Marie-Maude Pelletier Sottile was originally from Montreal and has lived in the GTA since 2002. She is a College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) member. Marie-Maude initially completed a bachelor’s degree in social psychology of communication and then graduated with a Master’s Degree in Analysis and Development of Organization and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University.
Over the years, Marie-Maude has developed a diversified skill set covering Psychoeducation, group facilitation, and delivering multiple psychotherapy modalities. She is experienced working with adults, youth, and couples experiencing various mental health concerns. She has obtained specialized skills training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches.
Marie-Maude integrates evidence-based practices such as Self-Compassion, EFT, the client-centered framework, and talking therapy techniques in her work. She is available to support clients in developing strategies to deal with emotional challenges such as sadness, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, anger, and loss. Marie-Maude is also available to work with youth and families facing emotional and behavioral concerns.
Specific concerns that she provides support for include mild, moderate to severe mental health disorders such as:
- Generalized anxiety.
- Depression,
- Self-esteem
- Codependency
- Bipolar disorder
- Post-traumatic stress
- Major depression, and
- Borderline personality disorder
Her integrative approach uses therapeutic methods, such as empathy, non-judgment, inspiring hope, and assisting with alternate views of the self and world. Marie-Maude’s compassionate nature believes in a warm and flexible approach to psychotherapy. She is deeply committed to supporting people and bringing positive change to their lives.
